My D sent in all her paperwork online, and then we signed that form and mailed it like they instructed. That was weeks ago and we have heard nothing from them. She emailed them days ago asking what was up and no reply.

Is this usual with them? Problem is that NCSA is the only audition that is not confirmed and I can't schedule our airline trips/hotels until I get that audition time confirmed.

Suggestions? thoughts? Anyone having a similar problem getting North Carolina to respond?

Call, do not email.

Did you send the snail mail packet (the form you had to sing) certified, so you know for sure that they got it? I would strongly suggest that when you are communicating with colleges, always send stuff certified or with delivery confirmation, so you have proof you sent it and proof it was signed for.

That said, I agree with Susan: have your son or daughter politely call to find out the status of his or her application. Explain that you need to make travel arrangments. Best wishes.

Definitely call...we have had a confirmed day/time since 11/12.

I told my daughter to call. Yes, we sent it "snail mail." But every time she has emailed other colleges, they have always replied promptly, within a day or two. This is the first college that has completely ignored her. I told her to call on Monday. We will send it certified this time, and will probably lose the slot we wanted, which may mean no NCSA. Oh well. Lessons learned. Hopefull she will get good news from Emerson this week and we won't care as much. (Not MT.... Straight Acting.....) Thanks for the advice.

got the letter today! Finally! She has exactly the audition location and time she wanted. guess they are slow. Now they say they didn't get her SAT scores, but College board sent them on October 31. guess she will be making another call..... But she asked me if she could wait a day. I said yeah......

chrissy, summer before last, my D sat down and had her SAT scores sent to all the colleges to which she figured she would be applying/auditioning. One was Boston Conservatory. Well, they didn't get the scores, even though College Board sent them. I ended up having to call College Board, who verified that the scores were sent in August. I could have chosen to have CB "launch an investigation," which would have taken weeks (BoCo, at least at that time, only accepted SAT scores via snail mail) or pay to resend the scores. I paid, because it seemed fruitless to "launch an investigation" into where a single piece of snail mail went. If NCSA has not gotten your kid's scores and NCSA needs them (frankly, I think NCSA is like BoCo ... the scores don't count for much at all ... I know some kids who are amazing actors but not very successful academic students who are studying there and are very happy and thriving!), I would resend them immediately if I were you. You don't want any little detail gumming up the works.

Okay... you are probably right. I can afford to send them again. Thanks again for all your great advice. Will do so tonight. Besides, my daughter is Meg in Crimes of the Heart this week and she really doesn't want to deal with this stuff. Too busy. She doesn't want to be a bother to NCSA. Chrissy
