@sweetgirl I don’t see how they can reject you. Wish you all the best.

@pumpkins “such a status exists?” Yes. It changes to that around the time when they send out the welcome packet.

VVVV congrats Gumdrop!

VVVV congrats Gumdrop!

Hey guys I just got my congratulations packet in the mail today!~
Good luck to everyone who’s still waiting to hear back ^U^

My status changed after they got my payment to confirm enrollment at UW.

“We received your confirmation payment. Thank you for choosing the UW Seattle!! If you have not already done so, contact the First Year Programs Office to select an advising and orientation session, which is also when you will register for classes.”

The A&O session sign ups being March 1, so I can’t wait!

@gumdrop, congrats!
@sweetgirl, I would say you have a strong chance of getting in, especially with the IB. =)

I applied at the end of december and got accepted last week via e-mail. Today I looked at my application and they just updated my status to admitted.

Info:
GPA:4.0 (not weighted)
SAT:1440 (440 CR, 560 M & 440 R)
EC: None.
Essay
Letter of Recommendations (2)
No AP

I still don’t receive the “big purple envelope” hahaha unfortunately it will take another month. :(

That gap between SAT and GPA is freaky…

It sure is…
That 1440 is extremely shocking.

Regardless, I congratulate your admission to UW!

dariop: Congrats! and…whoa, letters of recommendation? i thought we werent supposed to send any in…

Right, we don’t need letter of recommendation but I sent them because I sent the same documents to all universities, so I didn’t care so much about that.

Really I don’t know if I’m going to enroll at UW because I also got accepted in Purdue and Cornell, so I’m not sure where to go :S

By the way, I’m international student, I’m not even supposed to send SAT scores.

Ohh, international student! Hello! =) Haha where are you from? And I think you should go to UW. whistles innocently Because I’m totally unbiased… having already sent in my enrollment information… ;)

Thanks for the feedback guys! I really appreciate it. I hope I get admitted! What country are you from dariop?

I’m from Venezuela, South America. :D

Whoa, that’s awesome! Come to UW! =D =D

Hahahaha I’m still thinking about it. I’m going to study Aeronautics Engineering, so the top university for this major beside MIT is Purdue. :S If I choose UW it would be for other factors.

Regardless, UW is my 2nd option. :D

Awesome! Good luck with MIT! =)

@dariop Do they build planes anywhere near West Lafayette?

Sorry, couldn’t resist. :p

Hahahahaha Don’t worry, Actually that’s the reason I haven’t taken my decision. :S

Is it easy to get a job in Boeing after graduating from UW? I have heard that Boeing offers a lot of programs and internships to UW Graduates.

@dariop: I know a lot of UW engineering students who do summer internships at Boeing! Most are given a ‘HEY! COME BACK AFTER GRADUATION!’ note from their supervisors, who basically are offering them a job after they graduate. Just get involved, and yes, Boeing does have a lot of undergrad student opportunities!

@dariop I don’t know much about relationship between UW and Boeing. I am guessing it is a strong one. All I know is that UW has a wind tunnel.

Larger engineering/software companies in the region usually offer internships to juniors/seniors. Some of these end up getting full time job offers after they graduate. I don’t know if foreign students have the same opportunities as citizens and permanent residents.

nevermind me

I got accepted to both the UW seattle and Tacoma, tacoma being the first response I received.

I was surprised to find that the UW seattle notified me of acceptance via the MyUW thing. The reason for this surprise is that even though the UW tacoma accepted me, my status on MyUW was still “Reviewed. Decisions will be sent by postal mail…”
