ehh you know what.. it does depend on the school.

It might be more intersting to see if theres a relationship between ur sat range and gpa/gpa range.
like 1900-2000. 2000-2100. etc

i got around 6% correlation for sat range/gpa so it isnt that related.

That makes sense, mathwiz90. Grades just determine work ethic...the SAT actually measures ability (to an extent).

SATs and GPA will probably have a decent correlation once you get a couple thousand responses. Until then, even if you get a statistically significant relationship, you will have insufficient power to conclude anything about a population.

I help run an organization (College Entrance Exam Advisors and Educators), and we are going to introduce an online questionnaire in about a week. We hope to get responses from around nation (web), it will be about 10 questions in length, and after the data is collected and cleaned (to preserve anonymity) we will make the data set publicly available.

Since this thread is already talking about what we want to investigate, I would like to know what you guys think we should ask.

3.89 2260 if your still doing this

My son was 14 when he took the PSAT and he got a 202. His Plan score at that time was a 27. His GPA is about a 95 at this time but he is only 15 and in all AP classes. Do you think the age will be looked upon as a good or bad thing by college admissions? (he skipped 3rd and has been in honors every since. Will be 16 when he graduates)

Skipping a grade or two won't give your son an advantage or disadvantage. He's competing with all the kids older than he is and colleges will only look at scores and grades.

SAT - 2260
GPA - 3.75

I took SAT in my sophomore year (math 760, writing 700) and am debating whether I should take it again or not. Am a junior and not taking any math class in current year. Risky?

SAT= 2140
GPA= 3.8

i think you should re-take. almost all colleges combine your best scores and it looks good to see that you are trying to improve. (even though your scores are fantastic!)

1990 (one sitting)/ 3.75

SAT 2200

GPA 4.0

SAT should have been closer to 2300...don't know what happened on the math (690)!

2300, 3.93

2350 ; 3.6 uw GPA.

yeah. no correlation really.
im going to state school, since I cant get into anything better with my GPA.
