<p>I think you can do Carnegie Mellon. Just start working on your essay early and make sure it shows you off as a passionate and unique individual.
Your GPA will certainly not keep you OUT of any schools…including the ivies, but it’s about competing with the brightest minds out there and finding your competitive edge. People have gotten into Stanford and Harvard even with lower stats that yours, so don’t let CC people deter you, at all.
Just remember to have some matches and safeties that you actually like and aim high! I suggest finding a school that you can see yourself in for 4 years and possibly applying ED or EA there as that will greatly improve your chances.</p>
