what kind of college or what level can i find myself ?

I will be applying to college soon and looking for help on what i should expect.

A high school senior now, experienced many tragedy's through high school, lost both my uncles, and my grandma (who i lived with). Therefore during grades 9-11 my grades were terrible. barely passes my classes and finishes my junior year with a 2.0 gpa. I dealt with a lot of stress and wasn't able to concentrate in school dealing with the fact that i lost the person who cared for me all my life and the person i lived with. as I was overcoming my uncles death, my grandma passed during early junior year. I came to school draumatized everyday, it was terrible.

During my first marking period of senior year, i had straight A's and my marking period 1 average was a 99. I am also going to take my SATs in november and hoping to hit 2100. I took them during the end of my junior year and received a score of 1960. As I take practice tests now i am hitting 2150-2220 range.

Im wondering, will colleges see my improvents of senior year? With my horrible gpa (except my solid 4.0 of senior year) and a 2150 on the SAT (720 CR, 700 math, and 730 in writing), what schools would except me? Im currently in many clubs at my school such as DECA (business club), buildon(school club), played 4 years of lacrosse, have 100 hrs of community service, and a hands on mechanical club.

-Please take the time and post suggestions or colleges that i have a chance of attending.
Thank you and i appreciate you taking time out of your day to read my thread.

Hi, first of all, I’m sorry for your loss. I don’t know what it feels like to lose someone close to me, but it must have been horrible going to school like that every day.
Is the 2.0 your cumulative gpa? If it is, I don’t think there are that many schools that will overlook it…
UCs, for example, require a 3.0 gpa at least for admission, but you might try UC Merced, as it’s relatively new and sometimes admits students below the 3.0 range.
I know everyone says this, but community college is always an option. And then you could transfer!

Thanks for your feedback choara, do you know if a lot more ECs would help and if colleges will notice the rise of senior year? And will my SAT scores help me?
