I know this might seem like a dumb question (I'm sorry for my ignorance :P), but I HAVE to ask it: Is it okay to write an essay that is kind of melancholic but states your hard work??
or do admission officers want to read positive and humourous essays more?
This is my intended topic:
I've worked so hard towards this goal which is going to US to study</p>

<p>I think an essay on a serious topic that you can be passionate about works better. Humor can be used sparingly, but too much can give the impression that you’re not truly motivated.</p>

<p>As long as it is authentic and clear I don’t see why not. It’s just another way to reveal yourself. Take a risk</p>
