What kind of GPA do you need to get study abroad scholarships?

I'm a Computer Science major and I just finished my first year and my GPA came out to be 3.56. I'm really down about it since I used to have a 3.85/4.00 in high school.
My grades first semester were: A, A, B+, B. Second semester: A, A-, A-, B+, B-

The B- in Physics brought it down..I'm not a physical science person but a math person..

I will study abroad in my third year, so after this upcoming second year. So far I've gotten an A both semesters in the language of the study abroad country, will that help?

Is my GPA too average to get a study abroad scholarship..?

This is probably in the wrong section also x)

But thanks for any input/experiences/advice!

Which college are you at? You might want to repost this question in the subforum of your school.

At my own college, all aid for study abroad was need-based and generally available to everyone with a GPA above 3.0. That information doesn’t help you though.

My school provides need-based aid, but you can still apply for outside scholarships to lower loans or efc. While I think a high GPA is needed, your motivation for studying abroad in a certain country and what you will get out of it, as evidenced by your essays, are most important. For my study abroad, I applied for 3, but got 2 outside scholarships. For the scholarship I did not get, my essay was not as good since I was chopping it up all over the place to meet the character limit. My GPA is near 4.0, so I think the essay plays a larger role than GPA.
