<p>Hi everybody, so I have some decisions to make and I basically need all the help I can get. I've always been a pretty good student (4.0 GPA, ranked #1 in my class) but to be fair I was in a small school with not the most challenging classes. If anyone knows Oberlin High School, that's where I was. In sophomore year, I went on exchange to China. It was a crazy experience and completely changed my life. However, I received no actual schooling that I could understand! I have all the credits that I need from sophomore year that I need, due to online courses and a few things in English that I did in China, but none of the actual knowledge.</p>
<p>For my junior year, my mother has become a Peace Corps director and is moving the whole family to the country of Guyana. Guyana is a small, english-speaking country on the north coast of South America. This is an amazing opportunity, and I will definitely go for at least a half a year to stay with my family. However, the school in Guyana, although international, is not at all challenging. In fact it was rated inadequate by the government, so the PeaceCorps pays for me to go to boarding school wherever I want to. My question is what I should do after the first half of my junior year. I could:</p>
<p>A) Stay in Guyana, do community service and travel. I would take online courses, but probably not be prepared for college. Then I could opt to move for senior year or continue to stay there.</p>
<p>B) After a semester in Guyana, move to a boarding school. (Any ideas of which boarding school I should go to?)</p>
<p>C) After a semester in Guyana, move back to my old town Oberlin. Oberlin High School has I.B., so I could take I.B. classes and participate in free classes at Oberlin College.</p>
<p>D) Go to one semester of Oberlin High school, then transfer to boarding school for my senior year (allowing me to get caught up on academics before I starting boarding school, be with my friends for a bit, etc. etc.)</p>
<p>E) Do 5 years of highschool. This comes with several options, such as doing a year in Guyana and then two in boarding school, or two in Oberlin High School.</p>
<p>As you can see, I have a lot of thinking to do. I want to choose the most rigorous course, as I'm not afraid of hard work, and I don't want to miss out on any opportunities. Another question. Right now my dream school is Yale, or possibly Brown. Of course I'm not thinking that I could actually get into one of the schools, but do you guys think it could be a possibility? (My Explore score is 25 and my PSAT from Freshman year was 206). Which one of these options would be the best track to get myself into a good college?</p>
