Would anyone happen to recall or know what language courses are offered at UCSB, and more specifically, if Swedish is offered? Could one say the language programs are pretty decent? I'm just curious because I just got Rosetta stone totale for half off during the fourth of July sale but if achieving fluency in four years at UCSB courses alone is possible I might return the product since it is still expensive regardless. This would be my third language if that makes a difference in the speed one learns. Thanks!

I’ll bet the UCSB website has the info you are looking for. As for Rosetta Stone, you might want to look at some online reviews and decide if its the right product for you.

I’ve checked the website for a good deal of time and couldn’t find anything. Interestingly, according to a Swedish government website, UCLA and Cal are the only two universities in California that teach Swedish so I would assume it would be a no at UCSB (source: <a href=“Svenskan i världen - Svenska institutet”>Svenskan i världen - Svenska institutet; )

I ended up just getting the Rosetta Stone and so far I’m happy with it.

FWIW, the vast majority of the universities that offer Swedish language instruction will not have 4 years of language instruction. Most will stop after 2.
