im in a little predicament. I took the Math SAT II yesterday expecting 800 bc ive been consistent on practice tests. well, I took US History first and right after break i got reallly sick. i took the test anyway and according to here I did really poor. 10 omits and prob 3 wrong, so about 720.

I'm considering cancelling and retaking, but the problem is I was using October to retake the SAT, mostly due to my math score. i was ill prepared. my parents are pretty fed up with this stuff haha so I only have that date to finish everything up.

So, pretty much, I have to decide whether to take the SAT IIs again or the SAT I. I'm confident the I score will go up to high 700s and i can get 800 or high 700s in Math II. The outcomes are those listed above, which one is better for me?

btw, my major is going to be gov't/political science, if that helps for the importance of math. I did really good on the US SAT II, looks like high 700s-800. If I retake math i have to retake that, im sure i can still nail it, but I don't want to cancel a possible 800 that fits into my major, you know? if math isnt that important a 720 cant be that bad, and a high sat I would have more weight. im not sure. help me please lol.

I read somewhere else on this forum that 700+ is good for any college, even the ivies. So from that knowledge I would say anything around 700 is good enough and you should go take your SAT I in October and not cancel your SAT II scores, plus you'll never know what you actually got on your SAT II's which will bug you forever.

retake the SAT I - the combination of a high SAT I score and a very good SAT II score makes the most sense. just take a lot of SAT I practic tests to be sure you can improve significantly

I hope that 700+ and 750-800 on Reasoning is better. I got an 800 on SAT I Math I, and a 720 then 750 on Math II. I also hope that my straight A's in math and AP score on Calc this year will compensate for not having gotten an 800 on Math II.

I don't know why I can't do it, haha -- I'm good at math; I just suck at Math II. (Actually, that cocky attitude is probably why I couldn't get an 800, as I could never bring myself to sit down and study for it for any more than an hour the night before.)
