Some of the colleges I applied to have "Pre-Pharm" as a set major, but most of them do not. If I wish to work in Clinical Pharmacy after schooling, what should my major and minor be?

I know I'll have to apply to Pharmacy school later on anyways, but just for starters, what would be the most logical major and minor for me to have?

Any major that allows you to take all the pharmacy school prerequisites (2 sem chem, 2 sem organic chem w/lab, 2 sem physics, calculus, stats, psych, economics, anatomy and physio and some other sciences). Perhaps a molecular biology major would work well?

Just do whatever interests you most and can fit the pre-req courses in as well. There’s people that do language, art, history, economics, comp sci… pretty much anything. Do what interests you. Then you’ll be more interested in school and possibly get a higher GPA. The most common route is in something biology or chemistry related, but that does not mean it’s the only route. The caveat is that the more of an advanced science background you have, the better you’ll be able to think in that way, which will make some parts of the PharmD program easier.
