I just finished my first semester of sophomore year and I’m still having struggles finding a major. I have to decide on a major once I finish my sophomore year, however, I haven’t signed up for classes yet, because I have no clue what classes to sign up for. The general education classes I have left are actually 300-level courses and they seem like they’re a waste of time to take them. If I declare a major now, it would be a rushed decision and I still don’t know what I want to major in. I can’t pick without knowing what I like or what I’m good at. If I declare a major later, I will probably end up graduating later than 4 years. I can’t think of any of the majors on the college majors list that I actually like at all. None of them seem interesting at all.
Interests? Strengths in HS and college? Do you want a higher degree or specific job you desire? You need to give something to work off of.
What were you thinking when you applied to college?
You do not have any favorite subjects?
What do you do with your spare time?
Have you ever paddled a canoe hard or run a race and discovered the relief, pain or reward of a finish?
Do you argue/discuss any issues with your friends?
Interests: go on the Internet through my phone and/or laptop, stay on my bed, eat and drink what my family provides me.
Strengths in HS and college: I don’t really have any at all. Either I’m terrible at that subject or just inconsistent throughout my experience with that subject. No extracurricular activities, clubs, volunteering, internship, job experience whatsoever.
Higher degree or job I desire: Living in the woods. In all seriousness, I have no clue at all. I have thoughts about dropping out of college ever since I started attending it.

I asked myself why am I even doing this. I am at college because my family tells me to go to college because “it’s only way to succeed in life.”
-
Use my phone and computer, go on the Internet, lay on my bed inside my room, eat and drink whatever my family provides in front of me.
-
No and No, if you meant those words literally. I’ve had people who used figurative language in front of me and had no clue what they were even saying.

I don’t have any friends in real life nor I care about having one at all. I mostly go to online forums, Reddit, and Discord for communication and most of the time I had arguments with people there, to the point where everything becomes a mess. I clearly and easily get angry with people. The same with my family members as well. I can’t communicate with anyone “properly”.
Does your college have professional counseling services?
It sounds to me as though you are "flat-lined"on virtually everything. It is one thing to not know what you want. There may be more serious issues if all of life appears as a barren plain, devoid of color and sound. Dig for answers by asking some pros.
Your comments above indicate some dissatisfaction with your motivational state. The answer to “what major should I pick” may be discovered while exploring this problem.
You might turn out to be a very good “shrink.”
I went there a couple of times in a row on campus already. It wasn’t very helpful at all. The counselor told me that I have to make that decision myself and I have to start do things on my own so I can eventually figure out what I want to do in life. How am I even supposed to really do that? Everyone else I talked to tells me this as well.
Also what do you mean by “flat-lined” and “shrink”? I don’t get it.
Why did you go to college? What did you hope to accomplish after 4 years of college? If you have a difficult time answering these questions, I think you should take some time off from school and do something that you like. Maybe then you will figure out what you want to do with your life.
I’ve already said it once. I’m going to college because my family told me to go. They told me that it’s the only way to succeed in life. None of my family members have a degree and my parents don’t work at all. My siblings can’t go to college due to certain circumstances and reasons. So, I’m the only one left in my family that’s currently in college. I believe that I’m just clearly wasting time and money at college for absolutely nothing. If/when I finish this semester, I will say that I’ve just wasted four semesters/two years of college without learning anything at all. I went to my academic advisor, to career services on campus, to counseling/psychological services on campus, talked to my family members, people online, nothing is working for me.
“Shrink” see https://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b-1-d&q=shrink You can look these things up on the internet. This is a slang term for psychologist.
“Flat lined” is a term in the medical professions when a patient shows no life signals, e.g., a pulse or heart beat
