What major will get me a better job at SC: Economics or Public Policy and Planing

Hey Trojans,

I am deciding on which major I should choose, economics or public policy? which major is more likely to get me a job after graduation? all i here about successful USC alumni is that they are from the Annenberg, engineering, marshall and the film program but no public policy or econ. Will both of these majors get me a job in L.A.?

Your comments will be greatly appreciated.

Which major are you more interested in?

cowtipper1

either major would be great. Its just that SC Public Policy is one of the top public affairs program in the nation but I am mostly concerned of getting a good job in LA right out of college.

So if I had a choice I would choose Public Policy
is that a good choice?

pick whichever you want to do more. if you like what you do then you'll be fine in the future jobwise so dont worry about it

It really depends on what you want to do as a career. I am a current PPD students, and I highly recommend the program.

PPD prepares you for a variety of jobs in city management, planning, politics, policy, nonprofit management, private sector business, and real estate development. PPD alumni fill top positions in all of these fields.

My personal interest is in real estate development, and many of the most prominant real estate developers in CA are graduates of SPPD.
