Hi everyone, I got accepted to Ohio State University and as for now, I am undecided. I would be interested in studying to be an investment banker, but if things do not go as planned I would still like to have a high paying business-related job. What I want more than anything is to have a building-office type job in a large city, such as Manhattan, wearing a suit everyday. I am very good with numbers and very good with computers. So, the two majors I have been looking at are finance and computer science. Although, I seem to have more of an interest in a business major. So would a computer science minor be a good idea? Another thing, I was looking on monster.com under financial services and I see that most take a degree in either accounting or finance. Would an accounting major have a good chance at becoming an i-banker? What major do you recommend for me?

If you're good at numbers and would like to pursuit an IB career, I suggest taking courses or majoring these in any sort of combination:

math
economics
computer science
statistics
finance (non-business, but mathematical)

Don't waste your time on accounting, it's not an generalize major, as it is specialized for those who wish to pursuit an accounting career.

Some schools offer a degree called CIS (Computer Information Systems) that is directly related to business so you have to take business classes along with the CIS classes. You can also get certificates in certain areas to supplement your subsequential degree.

Finance or Economics.
