What makes Ivy grads more successful?

Ok you’re asking about grads… I really don’t think PhDs from Ivies are any better off than any other top departments.

Fwiw, the job placement rate (for TT jobs) at my public U for my field is the highest of any in the country- even above gasp Yale and Harvard.

@romanigypsyeyes: It really depends on the field, but the schools that are ranked highest in a field (and yep, they’re not going to be all Ivies) tend to dominate in tenure track placement:
