I don't see the point of taking both cal AB and cal BC, why does anyone bother to learn the same stuff again simply to reach the C part? It is pretty much like take AP U.S History after taking regular U.S History.

9th: Algebra Advanced
10th: Precal/cal
11th: Cal BC
12th: Multivariable

7th: Algebra 1
Summer between 7th and 9th (skipped 8th): Geometry
First semester 9th: Algebra II at school
Second semester 9th: Algebra II, Precalculus, Calc A (yes, just A), all distance learning
10th: Calc 1 and Calc 2 at UVA
11th: Multivariable Calc at UVA

I really should've taken a second math course at UVA this semester. Ah wel, I'll do it in 12th grade.

faithful - i completely agree.... AB is a complete waste of time, you only repeat the same stuff in BC.

I did just BC but it was separated into semesters at my school AB sem. 1 and BC sem. 2

9th extended alg 1
10th geometry-R
11th survey of math
12th math applications

hahaha Just kidding

9th: Alg2/Trig H
10th: Geometry H/Precal H
11th:Calculus BC

12: AP Calc BC

9th: Analysis (fancy term for precalc)
10th: Calc BC / AP Stat
11th: AP Comp Sci (only other course our school offered in the math dpt)
Summer after 11th: Calc III @ WUSTL (Pass/Fail was the BEST decision I ever made, plus I had a great teacher who let me use my 89 on the tests)
12th: AP Sleep / AP Senioritis

8th grade: Algebra I
9th grade: Geometry
10th grade: Algebra II and Trigonometry (two seperate classes)
11th grade: Advanced Algebra (only one [first] semester -- this past semester, I was without a math :-| )
12th grade: Calculus (begins in the fall)

6th - Pre-Algebra
7th - Algebra I
8th - Geometry
9th - Alg II/Trig
10th - Precalculus (the best math experience ever)
11th - AP Calculus (the class was AB but I self-studied BC)
12th - AP Statistics (the only other non-IB math class available)

Shanghai

8th-Math A Acc
9th-Math A/B Acc

10th: Geometry
11th: Honors Algebra II/Trig and Honors Precalc
12th: AP Calc BC

Finishing my junior year now -- my class this year was actually one class, not two, and it's for the top juniors who started off taking regular math as freshmen.

I'm going to self-learn BC this summer, although I'm going to take it again next year as an actual class. lol

[Ohio]

What is "IB"?

Ninth - AP Calculus AB
Tenth - Honors Geometry
Eleventh (Next Semester) - Calculus II and III at local university

I took Algebra II in eighth grade. Then, due to some administrative bureaucratic decision, incoming freshman will no longer take geometry from Algebra I but rather Algebra II.

Due to lack of demand, no Honors Geometry class was offered when I was a freshman.

Ironically, what seemed to hurt me helped me. I took AP Calculus AB with five excellent seniors and two great sophomores as a freshman and made a five. I highly doubt that anybody who took the class last year will make a four.

Valikor, IB is international baccalaureate.

It is similar to AP, but has different requirements, demands, expectations, and goals.

Freshman: H. Alg. 2
Sophomore: AP Stat
Sophomore summer - Precalculus @ local JC
Junior: AP Calc BC
Senior: NOTHING...no way am i gonna take multivariable. never want to touch math again, and hopefully never will. (i.e. will be history major,v. humanities oriented)

Freshman: Honors Geometry and Algebra II
Soph: AP Statistics
Junior: Trigonometry and Precalculus (both Dual Enrolled)
Senior: Calculus AB/BC

9th-Honors algebra II
10th-Honors Precalculus/Trig
11th-Calc Bc
12th-?

I know somebody who
9th-Algebra I part I
10th- algebra I part II
11th- Basic Geometry
12th- Applications of mathematics
