What math classes have you guys taken and plan to take?

8th grade- alg 1 99%
9th grade- geom 99%
over summer -alg 2/trig..im gonna take it at a local community college ..do some art of problem solving, take the tests form my high school and study a lot so i can learn it in 1-2 months
10th grade- H math analysis (trig and precalc)
11th grade- Ap Calc B.C
12th grade- multivariable calc and statistics (at community college)

Even though im a freshman,im just wondering if i have a decent chance in competing for various math awards?

No other ap maths are offered at my school except Ap Calc AB (which is for people not in honors)

lol my school kinda slowed me down b/c we have to take calc ab before bc…

8th - geo
9th - algII/trig
10th-calc ab
11th- calc bc + stats
next year- multivariable

9th- Alg II
10th- Precalc
11th- Calc BC
12th- IB Higher Level/ IB Further Math w/ Discrete

what math awards are you looking into?

not sure ;]

7th: Alg I
8th: Geo
9th: Alg II
10th: Pre-Calc
11th: Calc BC

7th-alg 1
8th-geo

some liberal math class in summer before going to high school
9th-alg 2
10th- pre-calc (took stats at college during this)
11th- calc 1 summer before year started at college, and calc 2 fall, and Calc 3 (Multivariate) in spring. AP Calc BC at school

11th- AP calc BC, AP computer science AB
12th- multivariable calculus, differential equations, numerical computations, and a lot of programming (all at a local university)

I never won any math awards though. ;)

Also, if something isn’t offered at your school you can still self-study it. If it’s an AP, you can self-study it and then take the exam to have some objective evidence of your efforts.

Our school is slow. The accelerated track teaches you AP Calc by senior year. I also didn’t know how to go about taking courses over the summer. Ah well, it’s fine.

9th grade: Geometry
10th grade: Algebra II
11th grade: Pre-cal
12th grade: AP Calc AB

8th - Algebra I
9th - Geometry
10th - Algebra II
11th - Pre-calculus, self taught calculus I
