What motivates you guys?

What Light Yagami does in Death Note.
... and I want to make my mom happy.

^you want to kill innocent people? that's nice.

LOL. How are criminals innocent?
But nah, that's not what I meant. I want to change the world in a drastic way, but not necessarily through killing.

Oh man, I've never wanted to tell people that, but the reason why I feel like I must go to a super amazing prestigious school is because I'd love to meet the girl of my dreams and fall completely in love with her. I don't think I could find her in high school, not a chance. I'd just love to meet the girl of my dreams and get a good job and all.

^ Poor you. The girl of my dreams is Yuna from FFX. I meet her everyday, lol.

^obstinate, that's what i feel as well..also yuna from FFX is hot..i've played 300+ hours on that game, but stopped a few years ago...was trying to get everyone to level 99 i think.

God wouldn't it suck if you got into a "super amazing" school, but the girl of your dreams ended up at a state school because she valued saving her parents' money over prestige?

what motivates me? the future. knowing i'll probably be better, smarter, more successful, and happier than many of the ******bags at my school.

-- what motivates me? the future. knowing i'll probably be better, smarter, more successful, and happier than many of the ******bags at my school. --

I feel sorry for you if you honestly view your peers in that way.

yes, i do, and i admit it. not all of them, obviously, but i'd be willing to go as high as 40% of my school.

EDIT: ehh, that was a little harsh. as high as 20%*

Poseur, then how would I know she was my dream girl? She couldn't be if I'd never be able to meet her :)

How do you know you'll be happier? Successful, maybe, as in making more money. Not necessarily better/smarter/happier.

^ hence the "probably." everyone, don't take what i said /too/ seriously. it's just my motivation. plus it's all subjective to my moods. (i'm obviously bitter right now)

-- yes, i do, and i admit it. not all of them, obviously, but i'd be willing to go as high as 40% of my school. --

No human life is a waste. You should be trying to help your peers overcome difficulties instead of separating yourself from them.

If I like a certain subject/hobby, then my motivation for those is the happiness I get when I'm involved in those activities.

If not...usually it's my reluctance to turn out mediocre work that motivates me.

The possibility that my day could randomly be awesome.

And the boy I like--yes, teenage girls are so superficial.

And food. I always wake up hungry, haha.

I can't think of a reason why I do anything. I just do. Despite attending a Montessori school, I've ended up believing that only an A is good. Besides that, in most classes, A's are easy.

The great things I can bring to humanity.

That when I send my college application forms next year, I'll get into even the best schools I apply to.

At least, in regards to schoolwork and community service... :-/

One of the things that motivate me to do well in high school is the knowledge that I have a chance of getting into a top university after I graduate.
