What music do you like?

I thought it would be fun to get to know people a little better, and I'm a huge music person, so I was curious what other music people are into.

My music tastes are pretty eclectic, and change often. I've recently been listening to Tyler the Creator and Destroyer a fair amount. Also of Montreal, Joanna Newsom, and Deerhoof. (I could list tons more but I think this is a pretty good sampling for now).

What do other people listen to?

Getting to know people, but not knowing who they are?

Hah. True. Didn’t think about that. Regardless, I’d be curious to see what other music future Yalies are into

I liiike Michael buble, Mozart, maroon 5, stuff like that really eclectic

I love the three R’s: rap, R&B, and rock. Favorites would be Kanye West, Jay-Z, The Roots, Beastie Boys, Lupe Fiasco, Eminem, OutKast, Nas, Justin Timberlake, Rihanna, R. Kelly, TLC, Arcade Fire, LCD Soundsystem, Radiohead, The Strokes, The White Stripes, and The Black Keys.

I enjoy oldies pop music (Michael Jackson, Madonna, Janet, Bee Gees ect…), any 50’s and up music, jazz (especially Nancy Wilson), and the classics of course :)

I really like Broadway music, because it gives you a little bit of everything–there’s some rock, pop, jazz, and of course the classic Broadwy style. I also really like music that doesn’t have that techno fake sound, like Jason Mraz’s.

Pink Floyd=best band in the history of time. Coldplay, Justice, Boston, other relaxing stuff… Chopin, Mozart, Beethoven

i LOVE alternative, but i have increasingly found myself being drawn to Vampire Weekend, the Strokes, Jack Johnson (always), Ingrid Michaelson, Maroon 5, john mayer (only the room for squares album, among some of his older stuff)…oh, and chopin. lots and lots of chopin haha. it’s the music i always do my calc homework to

this thread is kind of the greatest haha music reveals so much about a person on so many levels.
