what my chances be?

So i was wondering what my chances are of getting into the following schools?

Emory
Washington in St. Louis
Northwestern
Carnegie Mellon
UC Davis
Rutgers
Mizzou
Indiana University
Boston University
maybe UNC?

I go to school in the midwest.
I have a gpa of a 3.7/4.0 which puts me in the top 25% of my class.
I have 3 c's, but they're in ap biology 1st and 2nd semester, and calculus BC second semester.
i plan to get straight a's first semester next year to show colleges an upswing, because i went from straight a's my freshmen and sophomore year to a couple b's and c's my junior year.

my test scores are:
ACT - 32
SAT II Biology - 700
SAT II Math level 2 - 750

by the time i graduate i also will have taken 10 ap classes and 4 honors classes, which is half the classes i take, so i have a really rigorous course load (one of the most rigorous in my class)
my ap scores are

us gov - 5
bio - 4
world - 5
english language - 4

my extracurriculars are:

debate - 4 years, captain for two years, quarterfinalist at regional competition
math team - 4 years, got 1st place team score 9th and 10th grade at a regional competition, i also got a 108 on the amc test qualifying me for the aime
step team - 3 years, only male on the team, manager
laasa (african american society) - 2 years, banquet organizer
deca (national marketing organization) - class representative my junior year, qualified to state competition sophomore year, got 1st place at districts junior year qualifying me to state, got 2nd place at state junior year qualifying me to internationals
youth leadership - a single year program for about 150 high school juniors, 6 are chosen from my school out of an applicant pool of around 60
mu alpha theta (math honor society) - 2 years
i also participate in some USY (jewish youth group) activities even though i'm not jewish.

i've volunteered at a hospital last summer in a row - 75 hours
i'm also working at a medical office this summer (basically an intern) - 200 hours
i'm also helping develop the youth leadership curriculum for next year - 24 hours
i'm volunteering at united way, which is a fundraising organization, and i'm sitting on a panel allocating money to charities - 32 hours
i couldn't really do any activity the summer after my freshmen year because i had to stay home to take care of my 9 year old brother.

i'm south asian and male.
i want to study south asian studies/general history in college, which is why emory is my first choice so i'll probably end up apply early decision there.
please tell me how much of a chance you think i have at getting into these schools and some other ones i have a chance at.
i know my gpa isn't the strongest, but there's much more to me than my grades because i believe they don't accurately portray the extent of my knowledge and my potential. i'm also great with interviews and can easily make conversation.
thanks so much :)

i’ll chance back. please chance me.

I’m not very familiar with some of these schools, but I’d say Emory is a mid-reach and WashU, Northwestern, and CMU are reaches. The others are low reaches/high matches. I know your C is in a difficult class - AP Bio - but there are other people applying to the same schools that got B’s or even A’s, so I don’t think that is much of an excuse.

Your courseload is up to standard, which is good. You should try to compensate for those C’s by getting as many A’s as possible senior year. The only other thing I can suggest is raising your ACT score by a point or two - it is a good score, but that would get you out of the 25-75% percentile range for most schools.

Good luck!

I think you’re in for the schools that are in the latter half of your list. WashU and Emory are reaches for mostly anybody. CMU is a mid reach for you, and I’d say UC Davis is a low reach.

Emory-Slight Reach
Washington in St. Louis-Reach
Northwestern-Reach
Carnegie Mellon-Reach
UC Davis-Dont know
Rutgers-In
Mizzou-In
Indiana University-In
Boston University-In
maybe UNC?-Very hard to get into out of state, might be a reach

you’ll get emory, indiana, rutgers, and boston
the others are reaches

bummmmmp. ill chance back.

Thanks for chancing me. I think that WashU, CMU, and NW are probably in the low to mid reach range for you, UNC-CH also would be in that range bc you are OOS. I think you would get into 1-3 of these schools, just not sure which. BU, UCD, Emory and IN are all matches for you, and you will get in to Mizzo, Rutgers as safeties I would say.

Emory - low reach (high match if you do ED)
Washington in St. Louis - reach
Northwestern - reach
Carnegie Mellon - idk, but probably low reach
UC Davis - idk
Rutgers - in
Mizzou - in
Indiana University - idk
Boston University - in
maybe UNC - high match

Pros: You’ve got really good ECs, I’m just curious…they all seem very math/science oriented yet you say you want to study South Asian studies–they just seem to be contradicting.

Cons: Your ACT and SAT II scores are solid, but not spectacular, and therefore won’t set you apart from most of the applicants to schools like Wash U and NW. Same deal with your GPA, solid, but not spectacular.

I’d say if you apply early to Emory, you should get in, given you write good essays, and get good recs.

Thanks for chancing me, btw!!!

Here’s what I think…
Emory: high match, assuming ED
Washington in St. Louis: reach
Northwestern: reach
Carnegie Mellon: low reach
UC Davis: low reach
Rutgers: in
Mizzou: in
Indiana University: in
Boston University: match
maybe UNC: high reach (out of state…)

Chance me??
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/737553-chance-me-top-school-choices-ill-return-favor.html

Emory- mid reach
Washington in St. Louis-mid reach
Northwestern-mid reach
Carnegie Mellon-high match
UC Davis-match(assuming you’re from cali)
Rutgers - safety
Mizzou- in
Indiana University-in
Boston University-high match
maybe UNC? - mid reach

Well ur academics are OK, GPA could be a little low for some of the schools you’re applying to, but you have realyl good extracurricular activities so that’s good.

Emory-Low Reach
Washington in St. Louis-Reach
Northwestern-Reach
Carnegie Mellon-Reach
UC Davis-Match
Rutgers-In
Mizzou-In
Indiana University-In
Boston University-In

bbbbuuuummmmpppp.
