I second the digital camera. You want to chronicle your college years in some way.

I would recommend an iPod/Zune/brand mp3 player. It’s sometimes nice to walk around with earbuds in when you’re not trying to be bothered. It’s great for the gym too.

And, you can just double-tap on the trackpad for right-click on Macbook as well.

-a new laptop, probably the latest Dell Latitude with all the features
-an iTouch
-a new cellphone, one with a qwerty keypad (any phone recommendations, btw? service is irrelevant…)

If you’re running any kind of graphics programs (videogames, Final Cut, etc) it can run a bit hot, other than that it’s been amazing. Great battery life, LED screen is beautiful, I got used to the trackpad very quickly.

nooob- I’ve had limited experience with both the blackberry and the Iphone. Overall I like the feel of the iphone much better. My only complaint is that they way the screen is sized, when you’re look at websites the font is way to small to read. I don’t know if you can change that, but for me that was a definite turn off.

I had a BlackBerry before my iPhone. I went through 4 BlackBerry’s within a year, and then decided I was going to switch once Alltel told me they were no longer going to replace my phone (even though it kept breaking for the same reason).

Web Surfing, the iPhone blows away pretty much any other smart phone out there. The browser is immaculate, the multi-touch is amazing, and the load-time is admirable. (Granted this has a lot to do with carrier coverage)

Texting, I love how the phone displays the conversations in the iChat conversation style. Sometimes I won’t get a response to a text for many hours, and it’s nice that I can look right up and see what was said. (BlackBerry’s do it similarly, though it’s a bit different)

Not sure if you use e-mail much, but the e-mail client on the iPhone suits my needs far better than my BlackBerry did. My BlackBerry did not synch with GMail, so while I would receive an e-mail, if I opened or deleted it, it would show up as unopened and still there on my computer. Quite frustrating, being someone who checks their e-mail very frequently. The attachment viewing within the iPhone’s e-mail application is really great. A few times I’ve had to e-mail myself documents and spreadsheets for class, and it’s nice being able to open them up right on the phone. I’ve also had .mp3s sent via e-mail before, and they open up fine. Never tried video.

Organizing, I’m not sure what you mean. Storing files? Keeping contacts clean? Organizing programs and such?

thanks for your comments Another_Adam!
by organizing, i meant calender functions, typing appointments, setting alarms, ease of use in those functions, etc. Just a small thing, but I really want to use a smart phone to keep organized in College, so yeah…
