What now for deferred applicants?

I'm planning on sending a letter to Penn telling them that I'm still interested in the school. My semester grades are also coming in soon (should be 4.0). What else should I be doing between now and March, and when is the best time to send the letter?

Yes, I would like to know too. Would this be considered as an appeal? or adding documents to your application?

ditto. i sooooo want to get in Penn now. more than before and i don’t want to sound too whiny about the deferral too. :(

Anyone else have some insight?

I think sending a letter can only help. After all, why not tell them you are still very interested? I’d wait till after the ED stuff blows over, and include any positive changes to your application (better grades? new awards? new anythings?). Also, a mini paragraph about why you are still so excited about Penn might be nice. But I’d keep everything short and sweet.

Bump 9char

Can anyone who was deferred then accepted add any insight?? I was thinking about calling my local admissions rep, which is something I read in an admissions book to do, to tell him/her that I am still interested and then asking him/her what I can do to improve… Then another thing was emailing my interviewer. I am totally not sure if any of these will work, but at least its doing something!
