What other schools did you consider?

Or... are you considering? Although remote, Juniata is attractive for many reasons. What wins you over to Juniata besides tuition reduction by scholarship? (that's the most common reason I've seen cited)

my D is very interested in Juniata for next year. ARe you accepted there and will you be attending?

For my daughter, it was the reputation of a strong science program, plus the potential net cost after scholarship. Most of the other colleges she applied to are closer to our home in MD, Juniata is the furthest. She is okay with the remote location.

She applied to 9 schools, each had merit scholarship potential to reduce the cost to a point we would pay. The other schools were: Washington College, Goucher College, Loyola Univ Maryland, McDaniel College, UMBC, Catholic Univ, Univ of Richmond, Univ of Delaware

HollieSue - Our daughter was accepted. She could also go to Binghamton U or Geneseo so the state school cost comparison is part of our dilemma… (we live in NY)

worldspirit- we actually live in Binghamton. D won’t even consider applying there since it is in her hometown. Visited Geneseo, she didn’t like it. But she did like Oneonta, New Paltz and Potsdam, so next year we will be in the same situation as you are in weighing low instate cost vs. private. I know she’ll be accepted at all 3 state colleges as her gpa/test scores are way above there mean (now if she was interested in Bing or Geneseo, she would be at the bottom of Geneseo’s range, and sort of in the middle of Binghamton). She loved Juniata on our first visit. We will visit again this coming fall. If she can get the Quinter scholarship we can probably swing it. She needs to raise her SAT score 20 points to qualify for the Quinter according to their website. She is also planning on applying for a NOmination scholarship for the arts. Here’s hoping she can raise her SAT those 20 points!!

Our daughter was accepted to Binghamton, Rutgers , Pittsburg, Juniata, Geneseo.
Few more schools we are waiting to hear from.
As of now: Geneseo vs Juniata ?? ( tuition is thesame )
Binghamton vs Pittsburg??

Is it University of Pittsburgh or Pittsburg State University ?

Geneseo vs Juniata SUNY Geneseo wins because it has more stronger science program…for other majors, it doesn’t matter…

She just got a letter of acceptance to TCNJ / Biomed Eng.
TCNJ vs Geneseo vs Juniata
University of Pittsburg vs Binghamton
Juniata does not have a biomed, but this school offers a solid knowledge in science and it has an early assurance program for med school. I read that student love the environment there.
My daughter is very friendly, likes to be part of a community.
Originally she wanted a big school/city, but after visiting big and small she leaned toward smaller. Still she likes UPITT and Binghamton.
Please advise which school wins in science department?
Are professors helpful, easy to reach for help?
What are the students: intelligent, hardworking, open-minded?
