What other schools should I be looking at?

First off, I'm a HS senior and I've already applied to Penn State, Villanova, and Drexel. I got accepted to Drexel, and I'm still waiting for my decision from Villanova and PSU. It would be nice if I could find one or two good target/safety schools. The problem though, is that I have very mediocre SAT's and very mediocre grades. I'm planning to major in mechanical engineering, by the way.

I have 1250/1600 SAT.
630 Math
620 CR
600 Writing

3.7 GPA unweighted
Not sure of class rank.

EC's are solid, but not spectacular.

Essay/Reccomendations will be good.

I'm not really concerned about location, size, or any other factors right now. I just want to hear some suggestions as to what schools I stand a good chance to get in to.

A good safety would be Purdue. Also, look at Virginia Tech and Syracuse. I think you would have very good chances at both. Good luck!

Thanks for the suggestions.

I think I might apply to Purdue. I'll have to look into Syracuse and VTech a little too.

Wisconsin which has a very good ME program. Pretty similar to PSU so if you get in there (PSU instate) I would go if you decide to go to a big school.

Yeah, Penn State would probably be my top choice right now. They have a good engineering program and they are a reasonable distance from where I live.

Also, it doesn't hurt that I've been a PSU football fan most of my life.

VT has an amazing engineer program and it's really beautiful, although Blacksburg itself is kinda boring... plus they have a good football team!

im not sure about the engineering programs but you might want to look at st. joes which is near villanova. also college of new jersey. maybe scranton? university of delaware would also be good.

If I were in your shoes I would apply to the best SAT Optional schools such as Bates, Bowdoin, Holy Cross, Mt Holyoke.
