I took the psat early in my sophmore year and I got a 1360. Then I took a practice version of the psat and I got about a 1580. This time I was thinking more logically. Then I took the barron's SAT test and I scored between 1470 and 1510. Then I took the PR test and I got a 1210, which blew me away. I also heard that some SAT prep books are harder than the SAT so that when an individaul takes the SAT he/she will score significantly higher. This meant to make it seem like an idvidual has improved dramatically. I heard that people have scored up 350 points higher on the SAT than on a practice SAT. I think this situation I'm in. So what practice test will give me a good idea of what my score really is?

The official college board tests, either online or from the blue book

Official tests from the BB or other official source should give you the most realistic idea.

You can get three real SATs from the CB, see [thread=757034]this thread[/thread]. Also, the first three practice tests in the new edition of the blue book are real SATs; you can get reliable scores from those as well. You’ll never quite be able to completely simulate the test day experience, but the average scores that you get on these 6 tests are going to be a pretty good guess.

First practice using real Collegeboard tests - either from the blue book or previously administered P/SATs (You can find these online but it’s not always easy)

Other than that, I think Princeton Review helps the most.
Barron’s is too hard, and Kaplan is nothing like the real SAT.

^i used to like PR,but now…ehhhh.

Barrons, PR and Kaplans are all nothing like the SAT

I mean, GEEZ !!! This guy (futuresuccess) starts all these threads that are pretty much the same question. My friend, instead of wasting your and our time on here, flooding the board, and trying to find consolation, why wont you just study and work on your tests? I am not trying to berate you, but am I the only one who has the balls to say this ???

I’m just trying to get advice. I just wanna be a success man. I wasnt trying to irritate anyone. Sorry for wasting your time.

You only need to start one thread to get advice. Asking again and again isn’t going to change the answer. CB materials are the best. You will improve in proportion to the amount of work you put in.
