What public university would you choose?

UAA or UAF would be my first choice.

UC Berkeley.

I am surprised not many people have mentioned UT-Austin or UNC-Chapel Hill. Along with Cal, Michigan and UVa, they are among the most complete universities. Great campuses, awesome schools spirit, active alums, excellent academics etc...

Well, personally, if I were applying to colleges as an undergrad, UTexas would be my very last choice. But that's just me for my own reasons. Others would like it there a great deal.

i'd be between UVA, UNC-Chapel Hill, and Pitt.

UVA, Michigan, Berkeley, or UNC.

That's KU, Kansas University in Lawrence. Don't know why midwestern schools identify themselves differently from the crowd, as opposed to "University of...."

Kansas University
Ohio University
Indiana University

Wisconsin, UNC, Texas, Boulder, UCB.

William & Mary for a true Public Ivy experience. Cal has a great intellectual feel. UVirginia/UNorth Carolina for the more traditional college experience(sports/frats etc..)

On quibble, while KU goes by those initials, the official name is The University of Kansas.

KU: About the University

Michigan- I plan on applying

Maryland

Wisconsin-Madison

Everyone else

Ohio State (Go Bucks!) - I've loved the football team all my life. Considering I am in state, this was obviously going to be a safety school for me from day 1.

University of Maryland
UC: Berkeley
Georgia Tech

EVERYONE LOVES PENN STATE... PENN STATE... PENN STATE... PENN STATE... PENN STATE...

NO ONE ELSE BUT PENN STATE.

(sorry for the screaming!)

LOL! Is your kid a fencer on the Penn State team? If so, I'm impressed. Tough to fence there. I know two kids on the team.

YA PENN STATE!! !!!! I transferred from Texas (Austin) to Penn State.... but I love Texas too :)

Both great schools

When I was in highschool I applied to Berkeley because I liked the Asian student ratio:) Compared to that, UVa was lacking in diversity at least when I visited, but I am inclined to think that these two are my favorite state schools.

UC Berkeley, New College of Florida, Evergreen State College

If it wasn't more expensive than UM, UW. (instate at UM)

UVa and UWisconsin are my top 2, but some privates rank higher, and costs make UMich and others more logical options.

UNC.

I'm instate for UNC, so....yeah.

I'd vote for UT-Austin. As far as the UC system, UCLA and UCSB, but most definitely not Hippieville Cal.
