All the dorms seem to have their schtick. What’s Hope’s?

hey, I'm in Hope also, and I know very little about it. I have heard that one of its benefits is that students can practically roll out of bed and into class since its on the main green. I also know that it is the oldest building at Brown (pretty sure) although it has recently been renovated. The singles are quite small, although that doesn't concern us. I know nothing about the size of the doubles, which I hear vary in size. BTW, I'm somewhere on the fourth floor

Also, does anyone know if the rooms have closets? If so, how many? I assume the building isn't air conditioned? Any info would be great actually! :)

Its not the oldest building at Brown. University Hall is the oldest building. I believe Hope is the second oldest, it has been a dorm since it was first built. In the 19th century its top floor housed the libraries for one of Brown's secret societies. Supposedly they put people there if they are taking ES11, but I'm not sure if thats true. Great location. I would be more worried about heating than air conditioning come winter, just bring a fan.

there's a cool copper water pump outside hope shaped like a serpent from back in the day
