I hope to have 3.75+ GPA and 2 exams passed

I don’t think you can go by statistics anymore in our current economy. There are a lot of qualified candidates who have experience and willing to work for less. Chances are, unless you are a rare case, entry level salary will be lower this year. Assuming you get an offer from the company you want to work for.

A good estimate for finance/business majors is around 40-50k starting. A bit more if you are with a bigger name firm plus a sign on bonus.

As mentioned above, you can’t really base this on statistics.

Your starting salary will depend on many things such as what company is making you the offer, your school, your major, your GPA, and I think most importantly, what sort of internship/co-op experience you have.

Dont forget, Salary and pay is rarely based on what you deserve although it is a bit more rigid at entry level. It is more about leverage. I had a friend who got an offer from a big bank and when he told his current employers he received such an offer, they added 10k to his starting salary if he stayed with them. He ended up staying with the smaller firm and ended up making close to 70k right out of college as an analyst. This is a rare case but it happens.

One of my friends actually has close to a 3.5 and 2 actuary exams. He ended up taking 1 more year of classes because he was unable to land a job in spring of 09 and nothing during the fall of 2009.

I expect about 70-75K based on the average starting salary for the company I intern for (Microsoft). I know this is specific to that company, but I can actually see myself staying there past college :)

Wouldn’t a more relevant number to ask for be expected total first year compensation as opposed to just salary. depending on what you are doing those numbers could be very different.

It’s all about impression, if your not good at interviewing, then your not going to get the job you want(specifically business).

what’s you guys major, i major in computer science, i admire maer of post #10
