Weliketogo - I assume you meant that Denison was like a SMALLER Miami, correct? If you don’t mind me asking, how much merit did your son get at Denison? If he had the stats to get full tuition at Alabama, I’m thinking Denison had to offer a good chunk of merit aid!?!? Thanks in advance!

Sschickens-whoops, you are right-I did mean to say Miami is like a bigger Denison. If I am remembering correctly he got around $20,000 in merit from Denison which still left the net price over $35,000. Miami, on the other hand, gave him a full-tuition scholarship plus a couple thousand more for being admitted into their Scholars program so it was an absolute no-brainer for my son. He loves Miami and loves being debt-free even more!

Thanks so much, weliketogo, that is very helpful. I’m glad your son found such a good fit!

WE like to go -
My son loved Miami when we looked this summer for many of the same reasons that are stated in this post. Due to the competitive nature of last year’s class, we are wondering where he will fall on the aid scale? We have seen the chart online and wonder if students are awarded in the high or low end of their scale?

May I ask your sons stats?

Your post really made my day. Our son loved Miami when we looked this summer and we were very impressed by the level of advising and undergrad teaching.
May I ask your son’s stats? Our only concern is if he will get enough merit aid to make it feasible.
thanks
