What school fits me???

So I'm a high school senior and am really behind in the college app process. i have a list of schools but I don't feel like I belong at any of them. I'm looking for a school where the population is a bunch of ironic, witty, and quirky people. I want to find a school where there is obviously a social scene but where people like to go to poetry slams, plays, comedy shows, and art exhibits for fun in their free time. Anybody know of any schools like this? I don't know how to find out what schools fit this criteria without simply asking somebody for advice. HELP PLEASE!!!!!

The College of William & Mary

Brown is pretty quirky. It really depends on if you can get into top schools or not. If you can you have lots of choices!

I echo W&M! (my current school). I was looking for the same environment. Perhaps also Carleton, Tufts, or Brandeis? Vassar is well known for its quirky and artsy environment. Perhaps Skidmore if you’re looking for something less selective. I’m sure you’ll find ones that fit your criteria.

What is your GPA (both weighted and unweighted) and your SAT or ACT scores? It’s hard to suggest a realistic list of schools without knowing those stats.

Also, what is your home state and your financial situation? No one can make very helpful suggestions without more information.

Kenyon comes to mind.

Carleton, Lewis and Clark. But much depends on finances and stats.

Poetry slams, plays and comedy shows sounds like Muhlenberg. Vibrant theater and performance scene.

U.chicago - I know it’s where “fun goes to die” but not really

Tufts, University of Vermont, Lewis and Clark College, Macalester, Carleton, Brown, UChicago, and Kenyon all come to mind!

Just to put this in perspective, my son the smart**s, the very emodiment of your sought after students, went to a large state uni and found oodles of friends who, years after they graduated, come to my house and bust my chops, go to comedy shows, talk about the latest museum shows, read fantasy and science fiction, and geek on the latest, hottest board games. Son (chem) and gf (bio) spent yesterday at the Barnes Museum in Philly, the MoMA today in nyc, and a comedy show tonight in Brooklyn You’re going to find this personality type any school that’s near a city, and the larger the school the more people with it you will find. You will find your people at the schools named above and many many others.
