What schools are a good fit for me?

Hopefully
I was also interested in Molecular Biology. I took AP Bio this year and I found that topic interesting. what makes you interested in genetics/molecular biology?

Well, I feel like there is no better time to be getting into the field than right now with the whole biotech revolution thing going on. I like that there is a lot of uncharted territory where my scientific mind can be applied. I really like the the potential cosmetic aspect of it (the whole ā€œdesigner babiesā€ thing) and I am also interested in medicine since a lot of my family members are doctors.

What about your interest in arabic, history and pre-med? Whatā€™s that about? Haha

Tufts comes to mind for Arabic and IR and premed, but I donā€™t think they offer merit aid.

GW and American both offer merit aid and have good IR.

Just curious why you want to study Arabicā€¦ Where do you want to go abroad? To an arabic speaking country? My daughter is headed to Morocco in the fall. Sheā€™d planned to go to American University in Cairo, but her school dropped Egypt from itā€™s study abroad programā€¦ I would second Penn, GW, American for Arabic. Columbia has a renowned Middle Easter Studies program as well.

Ooh, thanks abuwalker! I want to study arabic for cultural reasons. Iā€™m Algerian, so I want to get to know the language better and maybe become some kind of a translator or somethingā€¦ I hope your daughter has a great time in Morocco! Itā€™s beautiful there, and Iā€™ve always wanted to visit. Iā€™ll def check out Penn,American and Columbia. I want to travel to Jordan, Egypt, Morocco and maybe even the UAE. :)

Thanks sacchi! Iā€™ve heard terrible things about Tuftā€™s merit and financial aid. Itā€™s really expensive :/

Wiscongene, wow that sounds great! Since you come from a background of doctors and since you have a scientific mind, I expect to see great things from you! Would you go on to graduate school then or would you like to find a job after undergrad?

also, iā€™ve just always liked history and global issues. As for the international relations part, Iā€™ve always been interested in foreign policy (i spent a lot of time watching CNN/cspan/ and the daily show/colbert report) I suppose its more of an interest that Iā€™d love to learn more about, and pursue a career in.
