I'm really curious and it's getting to be that time of the year where I actually have to start making decisions..I've looked at a lot of colleges and I'm looking at schools that are on the East coast, around the New York area. I'm looking for a school that has a nice science program...I love biology if that helps.

My GPA stands to be around 3.65 - 3.7 unweighted.. though it's not determined until I finish my junior year.
My first SAT score was 1990, but I'm taking again in about a week.

I took almost all "normal" non-honors classes in my freshman year, this is because I transferred from Canada on the first day of school and they weren't able to fit me into any honors classes besides math and latin. However, I'm taking all AP and honors classes now, and I even doubled up in science courses this year. There's an upward trend of my GPA even though my classes are on a higher level.

I do yearbook club, drama club, and Raise and Give in school, more involved with outside activities like volunteering for Habitat for Humanity, coached a soccer team for disabled children, volunteered at YMCA, babysat, also I've been doing my own art and playing piano for most of my life so I think I'll send the colleges a CD of my work. But I am not majoring in either.

^ Sorry if it's messy, if anyone could just give me a rough idea of which school would accept me (which are my reaches, safeties, etc), it would be greatly appreciated. Disregard the financial factor, I'm just seeing what are my possible options based on my academics/ec's. Thanks!

I’ve Never understood why a student would think of applying to a school they cannot afford.

Bad idea.

There are toooooo many schools that will work based on academics. What good would a list of 200 schools do you?

Are you a green card resident or international?

How much will your parents pay?

I’m not saying that I’m going to go to a school regardless of the costs. I’m just saying that I don’t actually know what schools I’d be able to get into at the moment. When I do, I’d look at the prices and probably narrow it down from there…
yes, I was asking for recommendations based on my academic merit. I can handle weeding out whatever is after :\ Doesn’t every other person have to narrow it down from 200 schools?

Urban area

medium to large populated school

up to 6 hours away from the New York area

4 year, not liberal arts

good biology program

I’m a green card resident.

Does that help narrow it down a little more?

*Doesn’t every other person have to narrow it down from 200 schools? *

No, not really. Maybe people with unlimited budgets do, but the rest don’t.

It’s like buying a car…there are 200 models out there, but if I know that I won’t be spending $50k on a car, that lops a bunch right there.

Are you considered a resident of NY?

Fordham
SUNY Buffalo
SUNY Bing
SUNY Stony
Marist
Syracuse
St. Johns
Is UDel within the time limit?
Is UConn within the time limit?
Seton Hall? UDayton?
UPitt?

What part of NY are you in?? It’s hard to know if something is within 6 hours since the state is big.
