What schools did you turn down for Tulane?

I turned down Wake Forest, Sewanee, and a few other notables. How about every one else?

Duke, GA Tech, VA Tech, Purdue, Miami, UIUC… and if I get accepted by the ones waitlisted me, the list will keep going. Eventually at most add cornell, carleton, UVA, Wash U… But saying this, if I do get off the waitlist at Harvard, I’ll turn down Tulane! Who wouldn’t? Haha!

I turned down Kenyon, Oberlin, Middlebury, etc. It was difficult to turn those three down, Midd especially (SUCH a good school!), but at the end of the day financial aid calls the shots… and luckily, Tulane seems like a pretty good fit for me. Even though I do wish Midd had been viable, I’m really excited to be part of the class of 2015 at TU :)

i turned down UCSB, Indiana University, Chapman, Syracuse, U Portland, U Michigan, and NYU

I turned down Colgate University.

Wake Forest, Wisconsin-Madison, Maryland, a few others

BU, dickinson, Conn College

Wash U., Notre Dame, Carnegie Mellon, Rice, VT, U. of Miami … hard decision, but the scholarship at Tulane was hard to pass up!

Holy Crap thecrew! Better schools than mine! Did u get a full ride at Tulane?

Dean’s Scholarship, full tuition.

Nice! No wonder!

I just want to say that I think Tulane is an awesome school. My s got into Duke, Vanderbilt, Notre Dame, Dartmouth, Rice, Wake Forest, Colgate, Lehigh, and Richmond.

I can honestly say that all of those schools paled in comparison to Tulane. In the long run he also got into Stanford and chose Stanford. But when we visited Stanford, it was Stanford that had to prove to us that it was better for my s then Tulane, not vice a versa. My S didn’t make his decision until May 1st and he did chose Stanford but Tulane didn’t make it easy. Congrats to all of you who chose Tulane. I think you made great choice. It’s a fantastic school!!!

I also just want to say that Tulane has the best cc posts out of all the schools. I miss this thread. Its always so much more active then the other schools.

Take Care and Good Luck to Everyone!!!

^^^I’m pretty sure most of the ivies have more talk on this forum than Tulane does

The Ivies may have more posts, but the food discussions here are unmatched. :)

True that, idad!!

My son & I visited during an Honors Wkd. and were both impressed by students (current & prospective), administrators, and faculty. He turned down several other schools- most notably William & Mary & Georgetown.

All three?? LOL, just kidding.

Haha! William& Mary& Georgetown… does sound like 3!
miparent- where do you live? Both of these schools are in my area!

I know from experience the mi stands for Michigan. (Palm slap when miparent pointed that out to me a few months back).
