What schools (if any) would you turn down Harvard for?

Any school really. I’ve never had a dire need or interest to go to Harvard. I’d rather go to any school in my state then to travel to that university.

Quite a few years ago I turned it down for Newhouse(Syracuse). My father still thinks I’m nuts. Grad school at Columbia softened the blow. Never once hv I regretted it.

I would probably choose Princeton over Harvard.
Maybe Stanford.
Not Yale or MIT for sure.

fascinating!

thanks for the info

Taylor Gang University or Ball So Hard University. Both very solid undergraduate institutions for aspiring doctors and professors.

Claremont McKenna, Pomona, UCLA, Stanford, USC (depending on scholarship), UC Berkeley, UC Irvine (depending on financial aid)

Ball So Hard U does have the exclusive ‘Streets’ major…

I ball so hard some people try outsmart me…but I shank them in a heart beat!

hahahahaha I read post #30 right now thinking “dang those stats are almost identical to mine! even right down to my brother being at Stanford!” Then I realized that the poster was my dad! Lol, we’re so consumed with CC! :)

P.S. those are indeed my choices. :)

^ Haha that’s great.

Sent from my SPH-D710 using CC

If I was blessed with having to make this choice, the only school I’d choose over Harvard is MIT…

I’ll be choosing Notre Dame over Harvard here in about a month or so… we’ll see though :)

I’d also choose Stanford, Brown, Rice, or Georgetown over Harvard (but I didn’t apply to any of these, just Harvard)

Vanderbilt and MIT couldn’t possibly trump Harvard though, IMHO.

Princeton, Stanford and maybe Duke and Pomona (admittedly a little biased)

Possibly – possibly, I stress – Oxford.

I have an offer to study law at Oxford this October and am awaiting the decision from Harvard like everyone else. If I am lucky enough to get accepted from Harvard, I genuinely have no idea which to choose! I’m not thinking about it at all really as I’m expecting the rejection and I’m already lucky enough to have such a wonderful opportunity :)

If the stars happen to align and things work in my favor, I could possibly see myself picking Penn over Harvard, because Penn is an absolutely terrific school and because I lived in Pennsylvania for 10 years.

UChicago maybe. But I won’t have to worry about that, since I’ll almost certainly be rejected in 11 days…

MIT or Caltech, without hesitation.

I’d turn it down for Princeton, Stanford, Caltech, and MIT.

Hogwarts.

A girl can dream.
