What schools in California could I get into?

You don’t have a really good shot at UCLA or Cal.

I’d look at Santa Clara and USC.

Well i was never very serious about school and I had always planned to go to texas state and then I got my SAT scores and I began to think maybe I could get into a better school.

Does USC care a lot about class rank because i may graduate in the 26%ile?

UCLA/Berkeley are reaches, IMO.
EC’s don’t really stand out. Academics are solid but not mindblowing.

You should take a real hard look at the Claremont Colleges. It’s an amazing environment and a very strong education.

Also how the hell did someone get rejected from UCLA with a 36 ACT?

Chance me when you get time: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/709285-am-i-track-ivy-stanford-etc.html

thx respectfully, which claremont colleges do i have a shot at?

All of them are relatively close to each other (academically, IMO). Depends what you’re interested in.

I think you have a very good shot at Pitzer, but CMC, Harvey Mudd, and Pomona are definitely reaches, like they are for most people. There is also Occidental, which would definitely be a match for you. What about Pepperdine, Cal Poly SLO, SDSU, and USD?

Thanks trojanman! I will look into pitzer and oxy but I am afraid that pepperdine would be too preppy and are cal poly sdsu and usd respected schools? Please correct me if i am mistaken in my perceptions

Well see I am looking at the same colleges I mentioned above. I don’t know to much about the reputations of each school, however, I know Cal Poly SLO is definitely the best CSU and up to par or close to with the mid tier UCs. Pitzer is seen as the most laid back college in the Claremont consortium, kinda like the reputation UCR has in the UC system. But of course Pitzer is still a top LAC, I am definitely applying to it. Occidental I don’t know too much except that Obama went there : } and same with SDSU, except that they have a good business program. I know nothing about USD. I think with your stats the best schools in California would be Cal Poly SLO, Pitzer, Oxy, and Pepperdine.

thanks trojan
