What schools should I look at(Sorry its a repost)?

The reaches seem a little too much of a reach but maybe I'll apply to one or two of those just to see how it goes. Thanks a lot, without you guys I'd really be lost! I have learned a lot from this site! My family(including cousins, first relatives) etc are waiting anxiously on where I go, its a little creepy. My dad is probably the coolest about my decision/where i get in and hes probably the least worried(for the right reasons, less pressure on me).

Confidential,

I'll comment more in the CMU site where you posted. I think going to a school like tj you might get too wrapped up in the prestige thing. In other words kids could confuse selectivity with where they might be happiest, or which school fits them the best. It's cooler I guess to announce to your friends you got into Caltech than CMU (more ooh-aah factor), but CMU (which is top 10 in 3 of your areas...plus I believe 11 tj kids this year are going to CMU) really might be the best fit. I can see you're going to get hit with this both at school and at home and it puts a lot of pressure on you. For you I'd suggest visit these places and go with your gut, not so much "where can I get in".

Good point. But at the same time, I know many TJ students who attended reach schools according to their stats among other TJ students(their counselors discouraged them) and they are still top 25% at their college. I noticed that most TJ students because of the work-ethic they build in high school and special opportunities they had access to, are far ahead even in schools that were considered reaches for them. This is why I'm not throwing everything out, but as you said CMU sounds like a perfect school for me because its advanced in the fields I'm interested in.

are u sure u are the webmaster for FBLA and Namaste? what grade are u gonna be in this fall?

i was previously.
