I know it's EXTREMELY early (I'm only an incoming jr.), but I was wondering what I should focus on in considering my stats?

Trust me, this is NOT a brag thread...I'm simply wanting to get some feedback...I'm looking to go to a top-tier school (preferably: Columbia/Harvard/Stanford)

PSAT Score (Soph Year)
200 (71 Math, forgot the other scores...both were above 60)

You obviously know how to get good grades. It should come naturally to you. And if you keep on improving your SAT's at the same rate and keep up your extracurriculars you'll be just fine.

you have nothing to be worried about just keep getting straight A's in the classes that you are taking and you can get into any school...

I do suggest that you start planning your SAT schedule though. I think the best way to go about it is to take the SAT in April of your Junior year and then take 2-3 (depending on what the colleges that you are looking at require) SAT Subject Tests in May of Junior year. This way you get to take all your tests when you will be prepared and still have enough time to retake stuff at the beginning of your Senior year if you did bad.

Yeah, but since I really only have 2 tries left for the SAT (realistically), I've heard its better to take them BOTH senior year. But, would that leave me with enough time for ED?

long as you get it in before november it should be on time for ED... if you take it in november that's when it gets tricky and probably won't be in time for ED for a lot of schools

really you shouldn't wait until senior year for both times, go ahead and take it once in april of junior year... especially if you want to do ED

also, i don't think that colleges are gonna consider the SAT you took in 9th grade as a serious attempt... i know it looks bad to take the SAT more than 3 times but i think they mean 3 times in junior and senior years...

Keep on getting A's, continue in all your ECs and start to demonstrate leadership in them, and take the tests at the right times and score well.

You can consider this testing schedule...(it's mine, and I think it's working fairly well)

Oct/jun, Nov/jun, Dec/jun -- don't do anything unless you're taking SAT II's (I took 2 in Nov and Dec)

Jan/jun, Apr/jun-- take one if you are doing EA/ED. It will be your "first" try...and if you score high enough, you're done. (I took SAT I in Jan, but didn't do that well...it's good because I still have June and October as two other chances...you can skip this if you want but be sure to do well on the later administrations or you'll find yourself stuck in a corner)

May/jun -- either rest or take SAT II. I wouldn't recommend taking SAT I here because it's usually around AP season and you'll probably be too tired to think. (I took 3 SAT II's here, done with SAT II's)

June/jun -- either take SAT I again or take SAT II if you still need to take SAT II's (I took SAT I)

Oct/sen -- take SAT I one last time before EA/ED (third try) (my current plan)

Nov/sen, Dec/sen -- it'll be rest for me, but if you didn't take a SAT in Jan/Apr you can take another one here for RD.
