I was accepted to a university for dual enrollment. I planned on taking microeconomics with them as it seems to fit in best, but it turns out the professor I wanted isn’t going to be teaching. The other professor only gives out two grades: one for the midterm and one for the final. That kind of grading system makes me nervous, so I don’t think that’d be the best start for me. Should I just give up dual enrollment for this year and go for AP Micro instead? I could take something else through dual enrollment, but don’t colleges like to see macro and micro together?
I’d go with AP Micro and try dual enrollment over the summer in a “light” fun class you don’t need for high school graduation, just to get an idea of how a college class works. Then, if you’re still allowed to take a DE class in the Fall, you’ll know what to expect.
I’d like to do DE because I’ve been in online school all my life and feel that I need to get out of that environment somewhat. I guess what I should really be asking is, would it look bad if I didn’t take microeconomics at all and instead chose a different class? I’d really like to start DE next semester, but not if it’d do more damage than good.
That’s a TOTALLY different situation. Then YES DE makes sense, because you need to be in a classroom, interact with other students, etc, to see what it’s like, before you go to college.
