What should I do about the interview issue?

An interviewer mailed me four days ago, saying that as she was working in my country and received my name as a prospective applicant, she’d like to interview me. She then asked me to reply if I would be able to interview any time in the next two weeks.

I mailed her the next day, saying that I’d like to interview, but she hasn’t replied yet. Should I mail her again? Wouldn’t that be weird, and way too many emails?

Plus, I got a nasty cold and fever, and if she asks to meet in the next 2-3 days, and i have to turn the offer down, it’d probably be the worst thing I could ever do for my Brown chances.

Wait a few more days, and if she hasn’t replied a week from your email, then send her another one.

As for being sick, there’s absolutely no harm if you need to turn down the interview, especially if you explain why. I believe interviews are available until March 1st, so you may be able to push it back if necessary. In any case, turning down an interview will not hurt your application.

I don’t know about internationals, but the deadline for me to submit my interview write-ups is Feb 15th, not March 1st. I agree that once it’s been a week, write her again.

if you are offered to be interviewed before you recover, try you VERY best to go unless your illness is contagious or you can’t talk at all.

I was in the same situation, in terms of being sick. My interviewer contacted me and requested to meet 5 days later, but by some cruel twist of fate I got sick in the days leading up to the interview -.-

I didn’t want to cancel so I just went and at the beginning I told her that I was sick and had a sore throat. She was extremely understanding, in fact she started looking around her office ( she’s a nutritionist) for something to give me and then we ended up breaking the ice with a convo about how much it sucks being sick lol.

Point of the story is, the interviewer is human and understands what it means to be sick so whichever option you take (postpone or not) he/she will understand.

I did write to her again, but still no reply.

If she left you any other contact method (phone etc) I would try that as something else could be preventing her from replying (computer down etc.)
