What should I do (soccer parents help)

So this year was the my first year playing ODP I had never even tried out
in previous years. So I went to the regional ID camp, and I made the regional Pool.
This is were the complications start. I'm a rising junior and I am transferring to a boarding school in the ISL and NEPSAC. I would rather not say the name. I was originally going to play for the local USSF academy team, which practices not far from my school. And while there is real chance that I would make the team for the interregionals/international trip. even though I am the the top 2 center midfielders in the pool I am definitely the third.
so the other option would be to play for the Regional and play for another local none academy team that is the state cup champion and regional finalist. what do you guys think would be the best decision in terms of playing DI soccer. and where would i get more looks
on the regional ODP team or on a USSF academy team.

thanks for all the help.

I think it will be hard for you to juggle academy and prep school. Perhaps sign on as a developmental player and see if you can make the trip for showcases only… Regional pool is great for your resume and my son found some great connections there… My best advise is to market yourself and go to summer camps at school you are interested in

I mean the USSF academy team practices at my school during the spring.

Go Academy all the way DI go after Academy players first and foremost. Good Luck

I don’t have advice, but I’ll share a thought. Are your college goals mostly about soccer, or equally about something else? Are you shooting for Div I Ivy, or someplace where sports might be more important than academics? I am not familiar with boarding school, so I am curious about your goals.

nah bro if you make the Regional team for interregionals it is a lot more impressive than playing for a mid-level academy team.

to answer shrinkrap’s question
going to a patriot league school, ivy,
davidson or a good academic D1 school
would be my ultimate goal but if it comes down
to say a big state school vs a NESCAC i will go NESCAC
every time. i have also already received some offers from
NESCAC, UAA, and liberty league schools

Do Academy. I can’t tell you how many schools we have visited (DI…including New England and Ivies) that have told us they recruit almost exclusively through Academy now. It has been an uphill battle for my son (himself a Regional Pool player for two years) to get on the radar because he only did developmental Academy. You are fortunate to have this opportunity. My son has two teammates on his school team (I think you know them) who played Academy full time this past season. The bs coach brought them to the practices and games. My son did not participate with them because he plays for another team, and he was injured in the fall. If he had not been injured he probably would have ended up playing Academy for this team. He has been invited to be on the team for next year and plans to do it.
