Hi everyone,

With freshman year (of high school) winding down, I would like to know what I should do to increase my chances to get into Cooper Union.

I am guessing I have a 4.0, but because in my school they give out number averages, I used a conversion chart. Weighted it is a 102.78, unweighted 97.42. I took the PSAT in October, and got a 1430, which I didn't expect much considering I am in 9th grade.

I know I obviously have to get my grade up on the SAT which I take in 2 years, but how high does it need to be and what else should I be doing to get myself into Cooper.

On the side of school, I volunteer at an animal rescue which I have been since 6 grade religiously.

In school, I am part of the student organization/student government.

I am in the "institute" program at my school which requires me to take crazy courses and have a ridiculous schedule, but maybe it will all pay off as Cooper wants you to challenge yourself in high school.

Next year, I will attempt to get into Cooper's summer outreach program for engineering, so I can further develop knowledge on the topic.

I am taking architecture as an elective as of next year and peer mediation.

I want to pursue engineering at Cooper.
