What should I do?

Hello,

I recently graduated from CC with a 2.6. Although I have a low GPA, it has been a turn around from how I started three years ago. I ended up in probation with 0.8 and managed to turn that around with my last two semester with 4.0. I also was selected from a group of students from cc that allowed me to take classes at an ivy institution. In those classes I got B's and a C-.

I've also done a lot in volunteering in the past. SAT tutor, Hospital work and stuff in my community.

I'm not sure where to apply to, but I am from the northeast and I was thinking

Syracuse and Barnard as reaches
SUNY's - Bingo, stonybrook, ESF, Buffalo, Albany

I did get accepted to CUNY's but I am looking to leave the city to focus on my studies more intensely.

Is there anywhere else I might get in? I'm not sure where else to apply.

You need to ask for an endorsement from one of the ivy professors and apply to a school such as USC that puts heavy emphasis on upward trend + letters of rec.

Well, I am science major and I got letters of recommendation from head of science for both departments. I would like to attempt to transfer for Fall 14.

^ Ivy league science department? If so that will help you a lot.

Yep! one from ivy and the other from CC. do you think i fare well in getting into any of the above schools?

bump… really need guidance!

What kind of school do you want to attend? A large state school, a liberal arts college, at tech school? What about being in a city? Are you willing to move out of the North East? It is hard to give you suggestions without that information.

I want to attend a small/medium size schools, but I am also open to larger schools because of my goa.

A liberal arts college sounds good. I would like to get away from the city atmosphere unless if I get into Barnard.

As for moving for the northeast, I’m open, but am wary because of cost of travel.

I’m looking for school with strong fields in both science and law because those are two career paths I am considering the most.

Also notable factors

URM
Intern in one of the top hospitals in the country in there different departments
Volunteer a lot
Full time worker at retail store

bump

what about schools like

Syracuse, American,UConn and Wellesley

I’m gonna bump again. really need guidance.
