I’m new on this site and want some advice!
So my tentative schedule for junior year is:
AP Calculus
AP Language
AP Chemistry
AP Computer Science
US History
Physics
Marketing and Business
I plan to do something with medicine or science or technology in college and in the future.
I’m playing football and basketball and volunteering weekly.
Should I make changes to my schedule?
Also, does anyone have any tips for getting into colleges (Like what I should do, extra curricular activities, community service opportunities, or just any tips in general)?
And any tips I could use while I’m in high school?
Thanks, and I appreciate the help.
Is there any reason you can’t wait 'til senior year for Physics, and then take it as an AP class? I have no idea how much study time you need but the two sciences plus Calculus are going to require a lot of work outside class. My son took AP Computer Science freshman year with permission and found it easy. There was almost no homework. You should also consider AP US History unless you really hate history. What were you planning for science senior year? At our school Physics is usually senior year. How many class blocks do you have? You’ve only filled seven. I don’t think a study hall would be a bad thing though.
I would consider the amount of study time that Calculus and Chemistry would take since you’re involved in extracurricular activities. I think Physics would be fine and agree that you should take AP Physics your senior year. I would also consider AP US History (unless your school doesn’t have it). It can be a lot of work from what I’ve heard sometimes, but it would be well worth getting the college credit for it, unless you hate history of course.
