I’m in in honors geometry, and I understand all the concepts very well. Whenever it comes to the test, I don’t do well. I have an option of moving down to algebra but won’t colleges see this as a bad thing if I drop down? If I stay in Honors Geometry, I will get a B. I want to an ivy league school.
There is no guarantee of getting into an Ivy League school, and you wanting it isn’t going to make it happen when the odds are against you. A B is a good grade, and a single B on a transcript will not stop you from going to a good school.
I suggest you go to extra help after school or get a tutor to help you until you have a better grasp of geometry. I see no reason to drop down with a B.
Actually, If I stay in the class…It will be my 2nd b.
Unlikely that you will be competitive for Ivies if geometry is difficult.
You’re unlikely to get in without geometry. Focus on a balanced list of matches and matches, with a couple of reaches.
I meant matches and likelies.
Stay in geometry and ask your math teacher for help or referral for tutors. Stick it out. Try to raise your grade and if you can’t do everything you can.
Dont obsess on Ivies and get a book called “Princeton review’s Best colleges” then find 10 you’d never heard of that you like. Fill out their Request info form.
Go visit your state’s flagship and a few other colleges.
