My iPod was stolen at school recently. I wanted to get a new one but should I get the 80gb one now or wait for the new iPods to come out. advice me, because I really can't live without my music.

My advice, don't get an iPod. Get one that's less conspicuous, cheaper, and higher quality

I have a video ipod and I used for two months and got bored with it. Now I want to sell my video ipod and get a samsung k5, so get one of those.

If you have your heart set on an iPod, I'd wait for the new one. I assume you're music library is intact, and besides, once you go iTunes, you can't go back. .-_-.

what's the new one supposed to look like?

my stupid ipod's screen got shattered and they dont wanna replace it...$240 to fix! ***? apple is gay

iPods are more expensive and not as good as competitors.

iRiver is good, but I don't know how much they are in comparison (I haven't bought an MP3 player in years). my advice is to not get an iPod.

if you do, though, try the Mac Buyer's Guide:

http://buyersguide.macrumors.com/

it's not 100% accurate for iPods but right now it is "neutral" about whether to buy one or not.

jst get the same iPOD you had before.

I wouldn't get an iPod. I'm on my third ipod right now and they just don't last.
(third because my 2nd was replaced free under warrenty)

Then you guys should be more careful with them :D . I've had the same one for two years with no problems.

Yeah, I would suggest an iPod over any other mp3 players. There's a reason why they are the most popular mp3 players around, so some people have problems with it, doesn't that happen with everyhting? IF youre worried, get the warranty. As for whether to buy it now, I'm not sure about the new iPod coming out, I heard it's a touch screen or something? Don't quote me on that though, and I would do some research to see if it's gonna be that much better. FOr the time being, I would maybe bring a CD player (lame, i know) and burn a cd with some of your songs, it's better than nothing

um, whichever one you'd get...DEFINITELY WAIT UNTIL AFTER CHRISTMAS! they expect people to give them as gifts etc, so they'll probably lower prices after the holiday rush is over. It's the same thing as when all the dorm stuff/laptops drop in price in october

my first one lasted until a week after the warrenty ran out, when in began to gradually have problems untill it finally died. the second only lasted two months, so at least I got it replaced.
so far my third has been fine, but then again it's only been a couple months.

It's probably because once you get iTunes, it's really hard to get your songs into any other format.

my MP3 palyers has been working fine for the 6 months I've had it.
(except for the fact that the ear phones stopped working a month later; the volume button gets stuck; the on/off button is loose; and the "change song" button is rusty and moves with difficulty.)

Oh, and the thing that covers the USB cable thing is really loose; just touching it will mahe it fall off.

If I ever lost my iPOD I would never have the option of getting another one. They're just too expensive.

But whoever said wait until after the holiday rush certainly has the right idea.
