So I really want to go to Cal Poly, but I didnt get in… so i was thinking i could either go to community college for two years then transfer, or i could go to pomona for how ever long then transfer from there… Which would u suggest?

The pros of going to community college i think are that i can get in much easier than trying to transfer from pomona, but the con is that i need to go there for two years.

The pros for Pomona are that i dont have to go there for two years as i could try to transfer asap, but the cons are that i might not get in at all and if i do it will be harder…

What are you majoring in? If it is not engineering or architecture, maybe Cal Poly isn't worth it.

Most people go to community college to go to their UC of choice as there are agreements between the CC and the UC. You are almost guaranteed admission in these agreements. Going to Pomona will not shatter your chances at transfering to SLO, but I would recommend looking into the UC's now that you are considering CC.

I am biased so I will refrain from pushing my opinion (CC to a top UC). You will need to decide what college is best for you and what path is the best. SLO is regarded as a learn as you do college whereas the UC's are more research minded. If you do not mind some larger classes, then a UC will fit you. If you would rather 'do' instead of 'learn' then slo might be for you.

How will you get there? CC leaves you with more options because if you decide that you want to go to a UC after two years, that is very doable. On the other hand, transfering to either campus from Pomona will be difficult.

It is ultimately up to what you feel best about. If you can handle four years at Pomona worse case scenario, then by all means go there. If not, then consider the other paths.

if you are really set on going to cal poly, cuesta is your best option. pretty much everyone from cuesta ends up getting in at poly. the only issue there is you have to get off campus housing, but it's not too bad. it's kinda far from town, but it's not horrible. it's actually a really great jc and you're in slo so it can't be that bad.

Possible? Yes. Likely? No. Sometimes individual schools accept sophomore transfers, but I do not know how likely that will be as it doesn't look like there will be many open spaces next year. If your gonna take the CC route, plan on going through two years of it.
