I've started to become a little nervous because I've been told to take as much Calc, Pyshics, and Chem before next year because it will be worth it in the end. I'm sure it is but, I wasn't setting my senior year six months ago, accordingly to classes I would take at USMMA.

I've taken regular Chem/Physics in high school. Chem my sophmore year and Physics my junior year. I am taking a Business Calc class at a local community college which is equivalent to a Calc 1 class in college by what my professor has told me.

I have talked to my school consoluer about taking a Calc 1 and either AP physics or chem but, they are all year classes so I have no way into getting into them.

My second semester classes are:
Accounting 1, Ap Biology, Comparative world religions, College English comp 1, and Applied Statistics.
To me it seems like none of these classes are going to help me for next year.

My question is what should I do? Am I just over-reacting? Or should I try changing my schedule for next semester somehow so I can better prepare myself for the academy...?

You are fine, don't worry. To be honest, accounting is probably one of the hardest courses at Kings Point, so if you can get a head start now, you will be in good shape. Also, you can probably be exempted from taking English and Statistics if you get a decent grade in those classes.

When I went out there for a trip I asked about transferring classes and the only thing they do to that nature was if you got 4 or 5 on the AP Test, if i'm not mistaken.

Take a deep breath, it's going to be a long 4 years and there will be plenty of time to freak out later on. Yes, as I said more calculus, chemistry and physics would be helpful but you will be fine as long as you understand that this is not "grade 13". The information comes at you very quickly and it is important to stay on task.

They must have told you wrong then. If you are taking college level courses, then you can get credit for them. I have, as well as my friends, so I can tell you for certain it is possible. You just have to talk to the dean and the respective department head to get it approved.

Sorry, I wasn't trying to seem like I was freaking out, it just got me a little off guard. :/

They might have I'm not sure. I just talked to some guy that was in charge of talking about academics to future students looking into USMMA.

To be more specific it's a dual credit class, meaning its credit through the high school and through that community college OR a school that is willing to have that credit transferred...if it's equivalent to the cirriculum and criteria taught in that subject.

Hopeful...my son did the same thing with AP and dual enrollment classes. He was exempted from several classes at KP.

However, with that said there are some you won't want to exempt, so just don't even worry about what you can and cannot exempt and do the best you can in your high school classes. You have to get an appointment to KP, nomination, DoDMERB and all the other things first :)

I didn't get out of any classes. My senior year I took AP Calc, AP Chem, and dual-credit english. Both AP classes definitely got me through calcs (calc 1 and 2, diff eq 1 and 2) and chems (general chem and engineering chem) with ease. But if you become a Deckie, your classes would help like USMMA09 said.

But this will be my last post for quite some time like is2day. I fly out to Israel tomorrow and will be gone till senior year!!! God Bless and don't kill each other while I'm gone.

My son did not have calc in H.S. and he's doing well, so far. (fingers crossed) He's just very determined and he's working really hard. Also he gets tutoring which is essential. It has helped a lot and many Mids take advantage of this.
