Earlier this year I was pretty confidnet in my grades and course load. But we just took our midterms in HS(We only have these classes for half the year so we take midterms every quarter.) I did well on all of my midterms but my Algebra IIHon. midterm was difficult and I idnt even finish. If I fail get a c or lower on the midterm should I consider retaking the class? Or would it still be possible to make it into USMMA?-John

i know i had at least one c on my transcript.

My son retook Algebra II in the summer to bring his grade up, from a C to an A, it was worth the effort,

DON'T GIVE UP. DON'T GIVE IN TO WORRY AND DISCOURAGEMENT.

DO WHATEVER IT TAKES.

There are many other things they look at other than the one C.

KPMOM 2010 has a very good suggestion.

Also work on enhancing your strengths and demonstrate these strengths in your resume, portfolio and interviews.

The interview with the board at your congressperson's office can be the most critical part of the process.

Keep taking your SATs.

YOU CAN DO THIS if it is what you want.

Thanks for all of the encouragement! If I dont have a B in the class by the time I am done I will look into retaking it online..Thanks-John

I only went as high trigonometry and managed a C+ my senior year. I was quite lazy. But work hard and score atleast a B and you'll be fine. Trust me from experience make sure u do well in algebra and know it. It'll make life easier for u hear and anywhere u go. No worries :-)

grades need to be decent, but they take lots of things into consideration. do your best, a C on the transcript won't kill you, i had like 6-7 C's on mine and they welcomed me with open arms. you'll be fine. just don't give up.

Well I just got an A on my last test and feel pretty confident with the class. I got a new Guidance Counselor and she is great. She called the Admissions Office at USMMA and spoke to a CDR DelRosa and he recommended that if I dont score a B in the honors class that I should take the class online at a regular level and shoot for an A. Thanks for the input everyone.-John
