What should I do?

Ok, so after recieving my likely letter from north carolina, my parents are very convinced that I will get in and dont wanna send my eighth and final application to syracuse. Although there is a slim chance that I wont get accepted to UNC, should I still send in
Syracuse's application (which is my second choice), or just not and take my chances.

What is their reasoning? The cost? The hassle?

If it's not a significant financial or logistical burden for your family, I'd recommend just sending it in. On the other hand, if you've already done 7 applications, you'll be fine either way.

Can you wait until after Jan 15th to apply to Syracuse? Of course that assumes you applied to Carolina EA, and will know by Jan 15th. My son is waiting to do scholarship applications until he hears from Carolina.

the application fee. its 70 dollars and they really see it as a waste. and i've already been accepted at penn state, UMBC, Northeastern, and Elon.

I don't really know that much about Syracuse, but is there any chance the FA package and/or merit money they could offer would make it significantly less expensive than UNC? If so, would it move up to #1 on your list?

This might be a stupid question though lol. I don't know how generous or stingy Syracuse is with scholarships.

probably not. UNC has been where I have wanted to go since elementary school.

i applied to syracuse & they gave me their most generous merit aid award for their j-school, and it was STILL way expensive. definitely not worth it (also wayy too cold!).

also you've gotten in 4 other places, so it's not like you won't go to college if you don't apply to 'cuse.
