I am a junior planning on visiting this week to get a feel for LAC's. I've browsed the website a little and read a little on Wesleyan and like much of it so far. What should I be familiar with going in? My academic interests are philosophy, film, international studies, political science, and obviously general liberal arts.

Email professors in departments that interest you and see if you can meet with them. Try to sit in on classes. Visit the Film Center and perhaps take in a Film Series showing (Wed, Thurs, Fri, Saturday nights). Eat at Usdan (you can get a meal ticket from the admissions office). Check out Olin Library. Check out the program houses ([Residential Life - Wesleyan University](http://www.wesleyan.edu/reslife/ugrad_housing/programhousing/programhouses.html)). And most importantly, walk around campus and and down Main Street (during the day, ideally) and try your best to determine if this is a place where you could picture spending four years of your life. Obviously you won’t know the answer to that question exactly (you’ll change over the years and whatnot). But pay attention to your “gut reaction” and be sure that Wesleyan offers what you want academically–both in terms of the general environment and class offerings.
